Garden Consultation: Terms & Conditions

The Consultation

A garden consultation with Sophie Nathan Gardens is a one-hour session in your garden. We'll walk the space together, talking through what's working, what isn't, how you use it and what you'd like from it. We'll look at layout, planting and overall feel, all tailored to you.

Afterwards, you'll receive a written summary of our conversation, including the overall direction, ideas for each area of your garden and suggested next steps. This will usually arrive within a week of your visit.

This is an initial advice session and does not include detailed design drawings, planting plans or ongoing design work. If you'd like to go further, I'd be very happy to discuss a full design service separately.

Recording

With your permission, I'll record our conversation on the day. The recording is transcribed and used only to help me write your summary, so you can relax and enjoy the visit rather than taking notes. It won't be shared and will be deleted once your summary has been sent. If you'd prefer not to be recorded, just let me know and I'll take notes instead.

Fees

The consultation fee is £200, payable in full at the time of booking to secure your date. Payment is by bank transfer, and details will be provided on confirmation of your booking.

Going Further

If you decide to go ahead with a planting design or full garden design within three months of your consultation, the £200 consultation fee will be deducted from your design fee.

Timing and Area

The consultation lasts up to one hour. If additional time is needed, this can be arranged in advance or on the day, subject to availability.

Consultations are available on weekdays. I'm based in Leytonstone and cover East and North London.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice.

  • Rescheduling: free of charge

  • Cancellations with more than 48 hours' notice: full refund

  • Cancellations within 48 hours: the fee is non-refundable, but I'll always try to offer an alternative date where possible

Weather

Garden consultations take place outdoors. If the weather is poor on the day, I'll be in touch that morning and we can decide together whether to go ahead or reschedule at no charge.

Implementation

Any ideas or suggestions discussed during the consultation, or included in your written summary, are provided as guidance. Sophie Nathan Gardens is not responsible for how these are carried out or for outcomes once work is undertaken.

If you have any questions before booking, feel free to get in touch. I'm always happy to help.
